The Limehouse GemsThis is a featured page

The artefacts (about a half a dozen palm sized gems) were discovered during the rebuilding of London in the 1960s and were put into storage by the Ministry of Reclamation were they stayed for the next 40 odd years. The fact that they were faintly glowing prompted the hand over of them to Torchwood for study. However the research team weren't able to find out much and so they were handed back to the government and placed in a secure storage unit (read: 'glorified lockup') in Holborn.

Following a shake up of government assests in 2006 the items were rediscovered and then released to the British Museum for study. The head professor, a chap called Blankenship, who led the study of the items mysterious vanished six months ago. Police were unable to find and no body has been recovered, though on the day he disappeared there was a road accident close to where he worked.

The Museum heads eventually decided to put the items on display despite objections from many of the staff, who reported an 'eerire feeling' when they were close to the items. However nothing strange has happened and many have put Blankenship's disappearance down to ramdom chance.
